This digitally restored version presents the film in the tinted colours documented in the surviving film materials. For the first time, the complete original score can be heard here in its full orchestral version.

– The Return of Lubitsch’s Pharaoh: a documentary on the restoration of Das Weib des Pharao, presenting this elaborate restoration work in detail through on-set images and accounts, interviews with those involved, and scene comparisons. It also covers the colour design, technical processes and source materials, as well as background on the music and its recording.

– Film concert: this HD recording of the film’s orchestral score is in fact a stand-alone programme item within this release. The recording was produced by ALPHA-OMEGA digital together with the WDR Radio Orchestra. Filmed live in Cologne on 14 and 15 September 2011 from a total of 16 camera angles, this concert edit puts the music centre stage, with the film itself only appearing in a supporting role. Because this wonderful music by Eduard Künneke had remained unpublished for so long, and because Frank Strobel and the WDR Radio Orchestra, with an outstanding performance, only truly completed the film, this orchestral recording can be experienced here in its full length and from the closest possible vantage point. This film is presented here with a choice of 10 language versions. The intertitles are designed not as subtitles but as full-screen title cards, as was common practice for foreign-language versions in the silent film era. The translations were provided by colleagues and friends of the project, all of whom have a solid background in film studies or film-related fields. The German, English, French and Italian versions are shown in the original typeface. Owing to the particularities of their respective scripts, the Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Arabic versions have a different visual appearance.
